How cutting the cord stopped saving money
Streaming was supposed to be the cheap answer to the cable bundle. For a lot of American households it has quietly turned back into one, just spread across more logins. Three things drive that.
The stack rebuilt the bundle
One service replaced cable. Then a second for the show everyone was talking about, a third for the kids, a sports add-on in the fall, and none of them ever got cancelled. Prices have moved on most of them since launch, and several now charge extra to skip ads that were not there when you signed up.
